Onam is the Hindu festival specially from the state of Kerala.In the month Chingam of the Malayam calendar, Onam is celebrated as the homecoming of legendary king Mahabali. It is a ten day harvest festival, commemorating the grant of a boon by Lord Vishnu. Onam celebrations include boat races, floral arrangements, tiger dances, music and dressing up for all of Kerala Hindus. It is the new year for Malayali Hindus.
